Tanpa Dana Negara, 500 Rutilahu di Bandung Direnovasi

Bandung,mediabandungnews.com – Sebanyak 500 rumah tidak layak huni (Rutilahu) di Kota Bandung mulai direnovasi tanpa menggunakan dana APBN, APBD, maupun BUMN.

This program is the result of collaboration between the Ministry of Housing and Settlement Areas (PKP), the West Java Provincial Government, the Bandung City Government, and the Indonesian Buddha Tzu Chi Foundation.

The launch of this program was held in the Bojongloa Kaler area, and was attended by the Minister of PKP Maruarar Sirait, the Governor of West Java Dedi Mulyadi, the Mayor of Bandung Muhammad Farhan, the Chairman of the Indonesian Buddha Tzu Chi Foundation, Aguan (Sugianto Kusuma).

The Minister of Housing and Settlement Areas, Maruarar Sirait said that this massive renovation is a concrete form of implementing the fifth principle of Pancasila, Social Justice for All Indonesian People.

He highlighted that no state funds were used in this project.

“I asked Mr. Farhan and Mr. Aguan, when was the last time there was a renovation of 500 houses without state money? The answer: never. This is the first time,” said Maruarar at the Kick Off location of the Inauguration of 500 Rutilahu in Bandung City, Ruko Plaza Pagarsih, Pagarsih Street, Bojongloa Kaler District, Saturday, May 3, 2025.

He stated that President Prabowo Subianto gave a mandate for government policies to be pro-people.

The central government has exempted VAT, BPHTB, and PBG for small people’s houses, and the city of Bandung is one of the best implementers of this policy.

Meanwhile, the Governor of West Java, Dedi Mulyadi said that providing decent housing is one of the three main requirements for eradicating extreme poverty, in addition to health and education protection.

“If people have decent, healthy houses and their children go to free school, then they can take care of their own food needs. A house is a symbol of dignity,” he said.

The West Java Provincial Government also distributed Rp3 million in rental assistance funds for families whose houses were renovated during the process.

Meanwhile, the Mayor of Bandung, Muhammad Farhan, said that this renovation covers four sub-districts and eight villages in the city of Bandung. Among others, Bandung Kulon, Babakan Ciparay, Cibeunying Kidul and Bojongloa Kaler Sub-districts

“We ensure that all verifications are in accordance with the standards of uninhabitable houses, the land is owned by the owner, is not in dispute, is not a rented house, and is suitable for construction. The licensing process has also been simplified. PBG, which used to take 45 days, now only takes 15 minutes,” explained Farhan.

On the same occasion, the Chairman of the Indonesian Buddha Tzu Chi Foundation, Aguan (Sugianto Kusuma) said that his foundation had built more than 8,000 houses in various disaster areas. However, a mass renovation program like this is the first time it has been carried out.

“We usually build new houses for disaster victims. But renovating 500 houses simultaneously in a city like this is the first time. We did this because we were moved by the extraordinary spirit of mutual cooperation in West Java, especially the city of Bandung,” said Aguan.

The Tzu Chi Buddha Foundation will cover all renovation costs, which are estimated to be completed in 3 – 6 months, depending on field conditions.

“And for the human resources for the construction, we will invite residents or local communities who need it, so that the construction budget will be returned to the community, basically we provide the materials,” added Aguan.

Additional information, the construction of Rutilahu in the city of Bandung will begin on Wednesday, May 7, 2025 at 08.00 WIB, so for those whose houses will be renovated, the government will provide time to move during the construction process. (Red)**
